KFC have a proven and committed relationship to sports sponsorship across various codes throughout Australia – Big Bash League, NRL and various other clubs across many codes.

However when it came time to connect with Australian AFL fans, KFC had been locked out of the code through category exclusivity restrictions. It was at this point they engaged with Red Gorilla.

Red Gorilla developed a unique, exclusive and first of its kind media opportunity that delivered category exclusivity, massive reach and share of voice and out of the box integration across opportunities across all of the commentary and news coverage of AFL across a major media partner’s assets.

Whilst not a sponsorship opportunity in the traditional sense, this media partnership drove all of the same benefits a code or club sponsorship might have delivered whilst by passing category restrictions locked in by their competitor.

Deep integration across fantasy football and a complex, fan-friendly prizing system was also developed and successfully delivered.

This partnership is ongoing and has recently been expanded to also include cricket and some aspects of the NRL.
